Brad is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and brings a quarter of a century of comprehensive financial planning experience to Cornerstone Financial Strategies. Previously, Brad served with an international financial-planning firm, starting in private practice and culminating a 17-year career as the Director of Advisor Operations. Recognizing he wasn’t living the advice he routinely gave to both clients and advisors to maintain a balanced and high quality of life, he decided to return to private practice in 2008 in order to spend more time with his family and in his community.
William T. Pickles, RFC®
Chief Investment Officer & Owner
Bill is a Registered Financial Consultant® and has worked professionally in the wealth-management and financial-planning arena for over 24 years. He has advised individual and institutional clients, regarding their investment portfolios, while Sr. Vice President with Eagle Asset Management and John Hancock Private Client Group. Prior to partnering with Cornerstone Financial Strategies, in 2007, Bill developed a financial-planning practice at Lincoln Financial Advisors, providing clients with guidance and creative-design ideas, in the key areas of investment management, retirement income planning, risk management, and estate and legacy planning. At Cornerstone, Bill’s specialties include financial-plan design and eMoney 360 Pro integration; as well as investment-portfolio construction and monitoring.
Michael K. Pickles, CFP®, MBA
Chief Operating Officer & Owner
Mike, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, joined Cornerstone Financial Strategies as a Managing Partner and Co-Owner, in September 2012, bringing his now twenty years of experience in the financial-services industry to benefit the family of Cornerstone clients. Previously with Vanguard, one of the world’s largest mutual-fund companies, Mike has served both retail and institutional clients during his career; most recently as the Senior Manager responsible for the $29 billion Institutional Recordkeeping Services group in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Brian K. Young
Brian is our Trusted Advisor for the Mississippi Gulf Coast, serving clients throughout the Southeast. A successful client during his active duty Navy career, he translated that experience to the role of financial planner and advisor, with an independent financial-services firm for over 14 years. He assisted military families in pursuing their financial goals through developing, implementing and executing long-term savings, insurance and investment plans as the foundation for family security upon leaving military service. Brian’s experience gradually led to the Values-Based Financial-Planning™ philosophy, where he joined Cornerstone Financial Strategies in 2012 to expand providing the highest level of comprehensive financial services through our team approach.
James B. Wilson VII,CFP®
First joining the Cornerstone team in May 2007, JB is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM Professional. He has over eleven years of experience in the industry, holds the FINRA series 7 registration with LPL Financial, the series 66 registration with Financial Advocates, and maintains life, health, disability, and long-term care insurance licenses.
Jim Feist CFP®, CLU®
Jim is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and has worked in the financial services industry for thirty-seven years. In 2016, he brought this wealth of experience to the Cornerstone Financial Strategies team. He specializes in comprehensive financial planning with a focus on serving the financial and estate planning needs of small business owners and professionals. This includes planning for risk protection, investment and asset allocation, retirement, education, estate preservation, and tax management strategies. He has extensive experience working with CPA’s and Attorneys and this allows him to create a comprehensive approach to financial planning.
Laura F. Baker
Director of Operations
Laura joined the Cornerstone Team in April 2010, as Co-Director of First Impressions. She is currently our Director of Operations, responsible for bookkeeping, commissions tracking, licensing and maintaining client accounts.
Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™
Tiara is Cornerstone’s Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™. She began her career with CFS in June 2017. Her main duties include assisting the firm advisors build our clients financial plan in eMoney. In addition, Tiara assists the team in all areas of Client Service.
Sue Lange-Pickles joined the team in January 2017 as Cornerstone’s Administrative Manager. Her previous position before joining Cornerstone was a Branch Office Administrator for Edward Jones in Gig Harbor. Prior to Edward Jones, Sue worked at Vanguard and JP Morgan Chase for 20 years collectively where she held management level roles. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from Arizona State University. Sue and her husband Mike, have two sons, Ryan and Brandon, and live in Gig Harbor. Sue enjoys serving our clients and professional partners. She also enjoys attending her sons’ school and their various sports activities.
